Two of our members, Gillian Goudge and Jennifer
Cargill Thompson are proud daughters of Canterbury, New Zealand. It
came to their attention that the site where Canterbury Association
planned the settlement of Canterbury Province in 1848 was unmarked.
With the support of private people, grants from New Zealand, NZWA
members plus assistance from the New Zealand Society, a commemorative
plaque was unveiled on the 16th December 2003 in Whitehall, London. |
