The Spring Lunch is always one to look forward to and this year was no exception. On a beautifully sunny day, surrounded by iconic views of London from the 18th floor of the Penthouse, we enjoyed excellent food, NZ Wine and some “bubbles” to celebrate the marriage of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, later this month.
Our speaker was Jane Tolerton ONZM, a celebrated New Zealand biographer, journalist and historian. She is co-director of the WW1 Oral History Archive and has written several books including ” Sixties Chicks” and “Convent Girls”. In 2013 she wrote ” An Awfully Big Adventure” taken from the interviews of the WW1 centenary.
Today she spoke to us about her latest book, ” Make Her Praises Heard Afar”, a collective biography of New Zealand women overseas in World War 1.
